The instrument is equipped with a dual-unit circular dial with a white background, black markings, and red major numerals. The outer metric scale is graduated in grams, measuring up to 4kg in 20g increments. The inner imperial scale is graduated in pounds and ounces, measuring up to 8lb in 1oz increments. The dial face is printed with the Typhoon brand name and registered trademark symbol. The cradle arms for the bowl are fitted with protective yellowed plastic tips. A black knurled calibration knob is positioned at the top of the body for zeroing the needle.
