Description

This lot comprises a collection of eight contemporary paintings on handmade papyrus supports, depicting various scenes and figures in the Ancient Egyptian style. The works are rendered in vibrant gouache and acrylic colours. Subject matter includes the iconic funerary mask of Tutankhamun, a profile portrait of Nefertiti, and a landscape featuring the Great Sphinx and the Giza pyramids. Various figurative scenes depict Egyptian deities including Thoth, Anubis, and Horus, often with decorative hieroglyphic-style inscriptions. The landscape scene is signed in Arabic to the lower left, reading Sa’id Abd al-Mun’im. A printed certificate of authenticity from Majdy for Papyrus (مجدي للبرديات) is included, identifying the items as Egyptian crafts made from farm-grown papyrus. The paintings are unframed and most are housed in clear plastic protective sleeves.
Dimensions: Approximately 400mm x 300mm (vertical) and 300mm x 400mm (horizontal).
