Description
This collection comprises several vintage advertising tins and cardboard storage boxes associated with mid-20th-century British retail and industrial packaging. The group includes a rectangular red-lithographed metal Oxo Cubes tin, featuring the brand name and text for meatier meals, perfect gravy, and an appetising beverage, with the side marked Store in a cool dry place. Also present are two yellow-lithographed cardboard boxes for Endura Lamps, which display illustrations of various bulbs and the Federation of British Industries (FBI) member logo. One box retains a side label marked 6 volt 0.4 amp. The collection further includes an Ormond Jubilee 1848 metal tin with wood-grain effect sides and a lid depicting a historical interior scene, marked National Maritime Museum Greenwich. A small rectangular metal tin for the John Bull Junior Repair Outfit is included, marked for the Leicester Rubber Co. The group is completed by a small pictorial souvenir tin featuring a lithographed pastoral cottage and garden scene.
