This selection of antique hymn books and church music volumes comprises five individual works primarily of British origin. The collection includes New Hymns and Solos, compiled and sung by Ira D. Sankey, published in London by Morgan & Scott, featuring a red publisher’s cloth binding with decorative black and gilt floral motifs. A second volume by Sankey, titled Sacred Songs & Solos with Standard Hymns (750 Pieces), is bound in purple-grey cloth with black stamped ornamentation. The Bristol Tune Book, Complete Edition, is present in a dark green cloth binding with gilt lettering and red-stained page edges. Also included is a volume bound in textured black leather with a gilt-ruled border and the name Thomas Lewis stamped in gilt on the front board. The final volume is The Church Anthem Book, bound in grey cloth with gilt spine lettering and housed in a protective plastic sleeve. The volumes are generally in octavo or small quarto format.
