Wrought Iron Fireplace Tongs with Coal Grips

A pair of fireplace tongs constructed from wrought iron with a dark, patinated finish. The tool features two long, tapering arms terminating in simple rounded iron coal grips. The arms are joined at a central circular pivot boss flanked by scrolled decorative shoulders. The piece is finished with a turned terminal handle. No manufacturer marks or signatures are visible on the body of the item. A white adhesive auction lot label is present on the handle which reads 10372 / 13 March 2024. The design is characteristic of Victorian style fireside implements.
