The Pirelli Calendar 1990, Arthur Elgort Olympic Theme

A large-format, spiral-bound wall calendar published by Pirelli for the year 1990. This edition of the prestigious publication, widely known as The Cal, features the work of renowned fashion photographer Arthur Elgort. The 1990 theme explores classical athletic forms and the Olympic spirit, presented through artistic black-and-white nude photography. Models Laure Boceart, Laurie Bernhardt, Christina Cadiz, Anna Klevac, Florence Poretti, and Debrah Saron are depicted as stylised athletes utilizing props such as torches, wreaths, and medicine balls. The project was conceptualised and designed by Terracelord Ltd under Art Director Martyn Walsh, with production by The Viking Group and printing by Vitesse Printing Co Ltd. The images were captured on location at the farm of Angel and Raphael Peralta in Puebla del Rio, Sevilla, Spain. This specific example is a numbered limited edition, bearing the production number 14248 on the reverse. Historically, these calendars were not sold but gifted to a select group of Pirelli customers and celebrities, making them highly sought after by collectors of fashion photography.
