20th Century Black Lacquer Oriental Black and Gold Vase with Gilt Landscape

A 20th-century Vietnamese black lacquer vase of elongated, tapered spindle form. The exterior is decorated with a traditional landscape scene in gilt and polychrome pigments, depicting a figure in a sampan boat near a stilt house and palm trees. This Oriental black and gold vase features a base with a square gold-stamped mark reading QUOC TE / MADE IN / VIET NAM alongside a small paper label remnant. The piece is a characteristic example of mid-to-late 20th-century Vietnamese export lacquerware. Height: approximately 310mm.
