The unit is constructed with a metal housing featuring orange-coloured side panels and a hinged metal front cover that serves as a base when open. A chrome-finished wire safety grille protects the internal lamp array, which consists of two vertical outer tubes and a central bulb assembly. A white plastic rotary control dial is mounted to the side, with markings for O, UV, and IR settings. The interior base plate is printed with the Carmen rose logo, Sundial model name, a tanning session chart, and operating instructions for a 240 Volt A.C. mains supply.
