Description
A Royal Doulton bone china figurine titled Vanity, model number HN 2475, designed by Peggy Davies. Produced in Stoke-on-Trent, England, this piece is an example of late twentieth-century British ceramic figurine production. The figurine is hand-made and hand-decorated, depicting a young woman in a nineteenth-century style magenta dress with a white waist sash. She is portrayed with dark hair tied in a bun with a white bow, looking into a yellow hand mirror. The underside of the base features the printed green Royal Doulton factory mark with a lion atop a crown, the model name and number, and a facsimile signature for Peggy Davies. It also includes the printed text Hand made and hand decorated and a 1972 copyright mark. Hand-painted decorator marks LA in black and 54 in blue are also present.
