Vintage Soft-Bodied Harlequin Clown Doll in Teal Satin and Checkered Textiles, c. 1980s-1990s

A vintage soft-bodied collector’s doll depicting a stylized harlequin or clown, constructed from a variety of mixed textiles. The figure features a white fabric face with black bead eyes, a red bead nose, and embroidered details including a smile and teardrops, topped with yellow curly yarn hair. It is dressed in a teal satin-effect tunic and matching tall pointed hat, accented with small metal bells at the hat tip and on the points of the shoes. The trousers feature a teal and black vertical checkered pattern. This piece is designed in the manner of late 20th-century decorative dolls, such as those attributed to Celia Dolls, although no manufacturer’s labels, trademarks, or country of origin markings are visible on the exterior.
