A large classical revival style glazed earthenware pedestal urn

A large glazed earthenware pedestal urn or jardinière produced in the classical revival style. The vessel features a wide, flared form with a thick rim flanked by two volute scroll handles. The neck is decorated with a relief-moulded band of classical scrolls and foliate motifs. The lower body displays large convex gadrooning. The piece is finished in an off-white glaze with darker grey and brown shading applied to the recesses to accentuate the moulded details. It stands on a waisted pedestal foot with a square base. No maker’s marks or factory stamps are visible.
