Osiris Porcelain Egyptian Revival Collector Plate, Cleopatra Empress and Enchantress

An Egyptian Revival porcelain collector plate from the series Egypt: Splendours of an Ancient World, manufactured by Osiris Porcelain. This item is the third issue in the collection, titled Cleopatra: Empress and Enchantress. The circular plate is finished in matte black with a gilded rim and features a central high-relief molded bust of Cleopatra. The bust is decorated in 22 carat gold with hand-painted detailing in blue, turquoise, and red. The reverse bears the printed inscription: Plate No. 1770A A, Osiris Porcelain copyright 1993, and Bradex number 15-O75-4.3. The text indicates the edition closed on 30 November 1994. A rim inscription states: Ceramic art – not for food use. Faithful colour pigments may poison foods.
