Description
Two blue and white transfer-printed earthenware plates, likely of North Staffordshire manufacture. The first is a circular plate featuring a central architectural scene of a Georgian manor house with a horse-drawn carriage and figures, framed by a dense floral border. The second is a larger octagonal plate displaying a maritime landscape with a three-masted sailing ship and a coastal fortification, surrounded by a broad border of roses and floral clusters. These designs are consistent with the English Scenery pattern attributed to makers such as Wood and Sons.
Circular plate: approximately 23cm diameter
Octagonal plate: approximately 27cm width.
