An Aynsley fine bone china hinged trinket box in the Cottage Garden pattern. The piece is of cylindrical form with a domed lid, featuring a gilt-coloured metal hinge and rim mount. The exterior is decorated with transfer-printed floral sprays and butterflies in various colours on a white ground. The base bears a blue printed factory mark consisting of a crown above a banner containing the name Aynsley, flanked by Est. 1775. Below this is the text: Made in England, Fine English Bone China, Cottage Garden, Portrayal of the Flora of an English Cottage Garden.
