A large chocolate brown glazed earthenware planter

A glazed earthenware planter or cachepot of tapered cylindrical form. The piece is finished in a uniform, high-gloss chocolate brown monochrome glaze both internally and externally. The minimalist design and form are characteristic of mid to late 20th-century studio pottery, resembling the work of Gainey Ceramics. No factory marks are visible.
Diameter at rim: approximately 180mm – 200mm.
