A Yellow Metal and Amber-Coloured Glass Drop Brooch in the Victorian Revival Style

A yellow metal drop brooch designed in the Victorian revival style. The piece comprises an ornate, rectangular top bar featuring engraved foliate scrollwork. Suspended from the bar is a central rectangular pendant housing a large, faceted, amber-coloured glass stone within a decorative border. Four chains of graduated lengths depend from the base of the pendant, each terminating in a small, oval-cut, bezel-set amber-coloured glass stone. The metal appears to be a gold-plated base metal alloy. No hallmarks or maker’s marks are visible. The pin mechanism is located on the reverse of the top bar.
