Description
A substantial professional-grade precision hacksaw, of a type commonly utilised for undercutting door jambs and flooring work, attributed to Crain (Model No. 368). The tool features a heavy cast-metal frame with a black textured finish, connected by a central chrome-plated tubular guide rail and a secondary thin metal stabiliser rod. The assembly includes two adjustable workpiece guides or depth stops mounted on the main rail. The handle end features an ergonomic grip integrated into the frame casting, with a wing-nut tensioning mechanism for the blade. The long steel blade is secured at both ends and features fine-toothed cutting edges. An embossed rectangular area is present on the handle casting, though the characters are not clearly legible. This item dates to the late 20th Century.
