Marion G. Aristedou Hand-Painted Cypriot Folk Costume Wall Hanging Figurine

A hand-painted polychrome wall-hanging figurine by the Cypriot artist Marion G. Aristedou. The figure is cast from plaster or a composite ceramic material and depicts a male in traditional folk costume. He is portrayed with a grey beard and spectacles, wearing a green cap and a decorated waistcoat over a tan shirt, with black trousers trimmed in green. The figure holds a brown staff and a bundled green accessory. The reverse of the figurine is flat and unfinished, featuring a wire loop for hanging. Two labels are affixed to the reverse: an oval silver-toned foil label with a stylised MG logo and a rectangular bronze-toned label stating Marion G. Aristedou is the original artist and that the piece was made in Cyprus.
