Paul Cardew Design Toy Box Novelty Teapot

A glazed earthenware novelty teapot and lid, designed by Paul Cardew. The piece is modelled in the form of a rectangular toy box, featuring an integral spout and handle. The removable lid is decorated with relief-moulded toy figures, including a doll in a pink dress, a drum, and alphabet blocks. The front of the main body is inscribed with the words MY TOY BOX in black lettering, framed by a border of small pink floral motifs. Further relief-moulded details include a teddy bear and two faux drawers at the base. The underside is unmarked by the manufacturer but retains a small white adhesive sticker printed with the words: For ornamental use only.
