Lot 1363:
Description
This collection of mid-20th-century workshop tools features a Moore and Wright external micrometer manufactured in Sheffield, England. The instrument is constructed from steel with a textured black protective finish on the frame and bears the M&W logo within an oval, alongside the maker name and location. The sleeve and thimble feature standard graduated markings. The lot includes a dark grey abrasive honing stone housed in a fitted two-part dark hardwood box. An assortment of twist drill bits is provided in two metal containers: a rectangular red tin and a decorative black octagonal tin with gold-coloured scrollwork and a tiered internal stand. A metal chuck key is also present. The group is completed by a coarse-cut half-round steel rasp with a tapered tang.
