Description

This is a first edition of The Ford Book of Competition Motoring, edited by the world champion racing driver Jim Clark and Alan Brinton. Published in 1965 by Stanley Paul and Co., London, an imprint of the Hutchinson Group, the volume serves as a comprehensive guide to the era of Ford-powered racing. The work includes contributions from a distinguished group of motoring figures, including Bruce McLaren, Stirling Moss, Denis Jenkinson, John Blunsden, Ken Chambers, Alan Mann, Geoff Newman, Laurence Pomeroy, John Sprinzel, Rodney Walkerley, and Sir John Whitmore. The book is a hardcover presented in its original pictorial dust jacket, which features colour photographs of Ford and Lotus racing machinery. One photograph on the front panel depicts a red vehicle with the registration plate 890DOO. Bibliographic details from the copyright page indicate the text was set in Ehrhardt type and printed on Antique wove paper by Benham and Company Limited of Colchester. The binding was executed by Wm. Brendon and Son Limited of Tiptree, Essex.
