A Large Ceremonial or Decorative Botanical Garland

A substantial decorative or ceremonial garland composed of various dried natural botanical elements. The assembly includes large, fibrous ovoid seed pods, smooth spherical hollowed gourds, bundles of small woody twigs, and circular woven pandanus or palm-leaf disks. These components are centrally pierced and strung onto a thick, hand-twisted natural fibre cord, likely sennit. The ends are finished with raffia-style tassels. The construction techniques and materials are consistent with traditional artisanal work from Oceania or Southeast Asia. No maker’s marks or inscriptions are present.
