A Pair of Masons Ironstone Hydra Jugs, Victorian, Japan Floral Pattern

A pair of Masons Patent Ironstone China jugs of graduated size, featuring the traditional Hydra shape. Each vessel is decorated in a Japan-style floral pattern, utilising transfer-printed outlines with hand-coloured infills in a palette of cobalt blue, burnt orange, and green. The bodies are further enhanced with molded Rococo-style relief scrollwork and ornate foliate handles. The rims and handles are finished with gilded accents. These pieces represent the classic Victorian aesthetic of the mid-to-late 19th century. Larger jug height approximately 18 cm, smaller jug height approximately 15 cm.
