Lot 58:
Description
A collection of five pieces of souvenir crested china, crafted from fine white glazed porcelain. This assembly, primarily attributed to W.H. Goss and contemporary manufacturers, dates from the late 19th to early 20th century. The set includes a tall ewer featuring a fluted neck and gilt-rimmed lip with the coat of arms for Devon; a small lidded rectangular box for Ramsgate; a miniature top-hat form for Bridlington; a small globular vase; and a moulded, dome-shaped vessel, both featuring the crest for Jersey. Each piece is decorated with polychrome transfer-printed heraldic crests over a glossy white glaze, typical of the Victorian and Edwardian interest in heraldic porcelain. Dimensions variable.
