Sony CFD-8 CD Radio Cassette-Corder, Late 20th Century

A vintage Sony CFD-8 portable stereo system, commonly known as a boombox. This solid-state unit features a top-loading CD player, a front-loading cassette deck with recording functionality, and an AM/FM analog radio. The cabinet is constructed from black moulded plastic with an integrated carry handle and metal speaker grilles. Control interfaces include a manual tuning wheel, rotary volume and tone knobs, a function selector switch, and mechanical push-button transport controls. The unit includes a telescopic antenna and a 3.5mm headphone jack. Powered by AC 240V or six R20 (Size D) batteries.
