Description

A collection of seven antique and vintage clear glass culinary essence and food colouring bottles of various molded forms. The assortment features products from notable British makers including A. B. Marshall, Ltd. (Saffron and Lemon essences), L. Noël & Sons Ltd. (Rum and Raspberry flavours), John Jaap’s (Strawberry flavour), and Cooper & Co’s Stores Ltd. (Apple Green colouring). One L. Noël & Sons bottle is of particular historical interest, bearing a “War Emergency Label” likely dating to the Second World War period. The A. B. Marshall bottles are labelled for “The School of Cookery” at Mortimer Street, London. The bottles retain their original paper labels and a variety of closures, including traditional cork stoppers and black faceted screw-caps. The labels indicate established dates for the firms ranging from 1842 to 1860, with the bottles themselves produced between the late Victorian era and the mid-20th century. These items serve as an evocative record of British culinary history and are frequently sought after for use as decorative accents or paperweights. Heights range approximately from 8 cm to 11 cm.
