Meccano Limited, Meccano Outfit No. 4 Construction Set, Boxed with Manuals, c. 1962

This vintage Meccano Outfit No. 4 construction kit was manufactured in England by Meccano Limited at the renowned Binns Road factory in Liverpool. A staple of mid-century mechanical toys, the collection consists of various perforated metal plates, strips, and girders in traditional red and green finishes. The set includes blue and white plastic wheels with rubber tyres, pulleys, a crank handle, and assorted mechanical parts. The components are organised within a molded yellow plastic tray. Included with the outfit are two original instruction manuals: Book of Models for Outfits: 0-1 and Book of Models for Outfits: 4-5-6, both bearing 1962 date codes. The set is housed in its original illustrated cardboard box featuring the distinctive red, white, and green livery of the period.
