Description
A group of four polychrome ceramic figurines, depicting anthropomorphic animals in a style reminiscent of classic storybook illustrations. The group includes a Royal Albert ‘Jemima Puddle-Duck Made a Feather Nest’ figurine, marked “Jemima Puddle-Duck Made a Feather Nest” by Royal Albert, England, copyrighted F. Warne & Co. 1983 and Royal Albert Ltd 1989. Also present is a Royal Doulton ‘Mrs Toadflax’ figurine from The Brambly Hedge Gift Collection, marked “Mrs Toadflax” from The Brambly Hedge Gift Collection by Royal Doulton, England, copyrighted Jill Barklem 1985. The remaining two figures depict a rabbit in bed with a smaller mouse, and a mouse reading a newspaper with ‘SAILOR’ visible on its front, perched atop a spool of thread. These figures appear to be from similar late 20th-century collections.
