Description
A pair of vintage pewter tablewares comprising a cream jug and a matching twin-handled sugar bowl. Both items are manufactured from pewter and feature a hand-beaten texture to the main bodies. A decorative horizontal band is embossed around the centre of each vessel, depicting stylised floral and foliate patterns. The items are fitted with angular, geometric handles and stand on raised circular bases. The underside of each piece is stamped with the marks: HAND BEATEN, SHEFFIELD PEWTER, and model number 102. The creamer is further marked with the number 4 and the sugar bowl with the number 5. These items were produced in Sheffield, a traditional centre for British metalware production.
