A TDC Three Dimension Company Stereo Vivid Model 116 stereo slide projector, manufactured in Chicago, Illinois, USA, circa 1950s. This unit was a high-end consumer stereo projector during the mid-century 3D photography boom, designed specifically for the projection of 35mm stereo slides in the Realist format. The projector features a robust cast metal body finished in a grey crackle or textured enamel. It is equipped with dual matched Tridar projection lenses, with the front rings inscribed TDC MATCHED TRIDAR PROJECTION LENS. The top-mounted identification plate reads Stereo Vivid and TDC MODEL 116. The rear control panel includes two toggle switches for independent or dual lamp operation and is rated for 120 Volts, 60 Cycle A.C., 1200 Watts total. The manufacturer’s plate confirms the serial number as 90038. The projector is accompanied by its original two-tone carrying case in tan and dark brown textured material, fitted with a black plastic handle and a red and silver TDC emblem.
