Description
A mid-20th-century mantel clock manufactured by Metamec in Dereham, England. The timepiece features a wooden case with a curved, symmetrical profile and two vertical metal decorative strips flanking the dial. The case is mounted upon a separate wooden plinth base. The circular brushed metal dial has a champagne finish and is protected by a convex glass lens. It displays Arabic numerals at the 12, 3, 6, and 9 positions, with baton hour markers for the remaining hours. The hands are dark-toned, with a circular counterbalance on the hour hand. To the rear, the clock contains a mechanical spring-driven movement housed within a circular casing, featuring a single winding key and an adjustment knob. The dial is marked METAMEC and MADE IN ENGLAND. The rear housing is similarly marked MADE IN ENGLAND and METAMEC.
