Two Large Ceramic Tiles in the Style of William Wise for Minton

A pair of large ceramic tiles featuring blue monochrome transfer-printed rural scenes. One tile depicts a pair of sheep beside a wooden fence, while the other shows a calf in a stable setting with a broom. These designs are attributed to the Animals of the Farm series designed by William Wise for Minton’s China Works, dating to the late 19th century. The decoration is executed in a fine line-work style reminiscent of etchings. No maker’s marks or signatures are visible on the front surfaces. These large tiles are offered as found.
