Description
A mid-20th century musical barware set comprising a pair of clear glass decanters. The decanters are decorated with hand-painted gilt scrollwork and are fitted with metal-capped stoppers. They are housed in a silver plated metal frame featuring a pierced gallery and a twisted-wire swing handle. The assembly is mounted on a wooden base which contains a wind-up musical mechanism operated by a metal key. The underside of the wooden base is stamped with the mark FOREIGN and retains a partial paper label reading W DRY I AM, identifying the tune as How Dry I Am. A British one-pound coin is included in the images for scale.
