An Avon Amber Glass Barrel-Form Aftershave Dispenser

An Avon amber glass barrel-form dispenser, originally produced for the Aftershave on Tap range, dating to the mid-20th century. The vessel is constructed from moulded amber glass featuring an embossed grape and vine motif to the side. The exterior is decorated with two horizontal bands and circular end panels of tan-coloured, textured leatherette material, embossed with foliate scrollwork to simulate traditional barrel hoops and ends. The piece is fitted with a removable wooden bung to the top and a metal spigot tap to the front.
